Hi, my name is Karen Oates - let me share my story....

Some years ago I came to the realisation that happiness and contentment eluded me. Although to the outside world everything appeared to be just great, for me as a person few things about my life seemed to gel. I had come through a painful divorce and years of putting everyone else first, and remarried. My children were growing and I was working my way up in my career. But something was missing, and I began to dig deeper and deeper in my search for whatever it was.

I came to realise that I was living my life in a state of default. Things had just kind of happened and as good as I was at taking action, I really didn’t know what I wanted to do or what direction I wanted to take. Worse, I couldn’t identify passion anywhere in my life.

So I made a few drastic changes – quit my job, bought a business, and decided to separate from my new husband of only a few years. During this time I discovered a great deal about myself, I stepped to the next level. I read and did everything I could possibly lay my hands on regarding personal development and growth, self esteem, self help, goal setting, finding happiness, life success, prosperity,abundance and wealth creation - and everything in between.

As things became clearer, what really blew me out of the water was the real power of my mind and that the very real Me has nothing to do with any part of me that you can see and touch. The essence of Me lies within. It is every single thought I have ever had. Linked together, my thoughts, my emotions, my feelings, my belief, all make up who I am. This is my soul, my spirit – ME. ....and that it was only ME who could take action and actually DO the things that were going to change my life for the better.

I identified that I wanted to have the time to make choices and experiment in my life, so I experimented with D-I-Y life skill coaching and I have taken the action to redesign my life that allows me to do exactly that! Now I am having a fabulous time investigating and exploring things new and exciting that make my heart sing! I became my own Life Skill Coach!

Along this journey to self-actualisation, I was always drawn to the most effective yet simple exercises to produce the results that would take my life to the next level. Having such a busy life, I wanted options that were the least time consuming yet most effective. So here you have it, D-I-Y life skill success coaching tools - a website filled with different ideas, tools and practical steps that I have found to work for me and that helped to take my life to the next level with personal goal setting, self esteem improvement, self improvement advice and personal development growth and more!
